Allan,

There a few tubs on eBay, prices ranges from $800 to $1500 depending on how complete they are (taillights etc). Most of them appear to be from dealers.

Cheers,

You will need to touch up the paint for the back of the cab, and also the chassis.

Fuel filler on FGs has some adjustment, in that it is not a solid filler with the tank, as in previous models.

I was thinking of starting the same thread this arvo.

I have BF and want to do a similar to Ol' Mate G Banger.

Anyone know anyone who has done this conversion?

I wish 'they' made it a factory option to have the tray. Personally, Im not a fan of the lack-of-style side back.

Thanks all.

G Banger Turbo

The exhaust doesn't change.

Auto electrician can wire up tail-lights. You may be able to do it yourself.

LPG Gas tank could have more room, depending on the height of the tray above the chassis.

mate sorry to burst your bubble but the tubs aren't fetching much as there are plenty already laying around in tray builders all over the place . I flogged mine after trying ebay to a forum member for 600 bucks .. I was like you hoping to recoup some of the trays price but it just isn't to be..

pulling the tub off is a no brainer and you will just have to paint the back of the cab.. the hardest part of the tub removal was realising there was a bolt hidden behind the mumber plate which I hadn't removed yet lol

if you mount the tray right down on the chassis like I did you will lose a little in the fuel capacity as I could cram 80 odd litres in it with the tub and cant get more than 71 with the tray as the filler is lower.. other than that the hardset part is to get a good tray without being robbed for it. and realising ford wont give you a cent back for the tray when your done with it so it will be another 4g of depreciation you will cop on resale.. as you'd gather I am sick of mine and it'll be up for grabs in a few months for some lucky cashed up buyer with a whopping 20k on the clock

cheers utemad

As for taillights you would wire them up yourself in around 20 mins . its a no brainer, I bought a set of new BF lights on fleabay and cut the original plug off the FG tubs lights then soldered the new lights to it so I retained the factory loom and unplugability
