Surge Tank & 044 - Tune Needed?

I have just purchased a Surge tank (2 lts) and a Bosch 044.

I have 60Ib Injectors, Growler CAI, 0.8 Platinum Plugs, 10psi custom tune (BPS).

Can I install the surge and 044 without changing anything else??? Regulator? Tune?

This is the next step before I upgrade the exaust and get another tune - which may not happen for 6 months.

I just need to know if it is safe to run the new fuel system without needing anything else.

Thanks

Thanks mate.

Can't wait to get the exaust system and tune, the clutch and fuel had to come first...

Unfortunately my money is all tied up in being responsible and all that wank - so prob a 6 month wait... yay :buttrock:

Looks like I'll have fun putting this setup in. I don't think you guys would have seen it before, its made by Bugsy's bought off

e-bay. The one I have though has two mounting points made to fit the ute underbody on the passenger side.

The Bosch 044 fuel pump flows differently to the stock or a walbro pump. I would have your AF's at least checked on a dyno once installed. It could now be flowing in more fuel at the same injector pulse width that it was tuned for.

I picked up 20 rear wheel kilo's after installing the PW surge tank and 044, whether this was just a touch up tune imnot sure, but the AFR's are now safe as, so yeah, id be getting the mixtures checked.

one would think the pressure regulator would still provide the same pressure with a hi flo pump system but mine went rich as after instaling an o44/ tank setup, picked up 50rwkw with just a tank pump and tune.

Interesting... :buttrock:

This is why I put the post up, to find out what other people have done and their experiences.

I also thought that the regulator would keep the fuel pressure the same...

BFHOON - was your car standard before installing a fuel sys + tune and gaining 50kW? Because I was told (by my tuner) that the standard injectors in the BF's are running 80% cycle standard. ---------And it is possible to gain 50kW with ONLY a custom tune from standard.

Xrfrango - YES E-BAY :roflmbo: I have bought alot of stuff from ebay all at good prices and all top quality, hoping this tank is also good (the welds look ok) just have to wait and see.

Hey peeps, I got all excited today and bought the stuff I need to install my new surge tank and 044 (except cable to power the pump)

I have a couple of questions

1. Where is that special pink wire which powers the standard fuel pump? ( I am going to hyjack for signal to new relay for 044) - (or I could find the fuel pump relay, and jack its signal)

2. See picture below... what type of fittings are these? (between the rubber hose and steel fuel line)

my tank will be here...

and I need to figure out the easiest way to hook in the fuel lines.

3. What size are the steel fuel lines?

- I was thinking of going to Enzed and getting some fittings which lock onto the fuel line (when cut) so I would cut the lines and put fittings on them, then I would use 5/16" EFI hose and pipe clamps to do the plumbing...

Any suggestions/answers would be great - thanks guys and gals :beerchug:
