For all you blokes with K & N filters, now's the time to take em off, not drive or put a foam over filter on em. This sh*t will go straight through em.

dude you serious? I was at work until 6am so seen it all unfold but obviously had to drive home.. what problems could I expect?

If the filter is oiled corectly then you shouldn't have a drama, other wise clean it out asap and re-oil. the oil in the K&N filters is what eeps out all the crap.

I knew I'd get a rise out of that one. Yes, the oil is what does the trick (as with foam filters), but it has been prooven in plenty of tests that the K & Ns don't do the best job at stopping dust. Which is why K & N themselves recomend a foam sock over the filter in dusty conditions.

You sydney people hogged the news this morning for nothing!!

My old hometown where the parents still live, Broken Hill NSW was totally BLACKED OUT for hours on end it was that thick, mum couldnt even see the street lights out the front from the fence during the daylight (yes they turned them on cuz of the dust)

Dad reckons he had to feel his way back to the house from the backyard couldnt open his eyes it burnt so bad and the little Maltese sh*tzu's turned red in minutes haha!!

check some of the footage from Broken hill on youtube its crazy:

And this beauty that rolled through last year on the same month was insane... I was lucky enough to have gotten home from travelling into this storm only 1 hour before it hit, I wouldve had to stop for hours my poor dose pipe wouldve choked in seconds!!
