Considering a 2nd hand Escape - few years old, few km's up to 100K, looks to be a few round the $20k mark give or take, few even around the $16-$18k, prob only keep it around for about 12-18 months and give the F6 a bit of a rest, since the XR5 went when Da Gurly went.... :wtcslap:

Anyone here had one?

Anything to look out for?

I believe they are no longer out of the same plant the Mazda Tribute was (had 2 tributes years back as company cars, so dont really know what problems I had as it was always just fixed up on the company account with every service...)

If no good, recommendations for a SUV type run around...

V6, or straight 6... not a complete slug, but room to whack in some stock - including servers, big boxed laser printers, plasmas, etc... Seems the Escape might be worth the trick...

Will prob whack some rimms on it and a few things with decals - so dont want an ugly dog!

:msm:

Any help guys....

My wife has one, only the 4 cylinder. Pretty sluggish off the mark I must say, although it will carry a full drum kit in the back with the cargo barrier removed and back seats down!

Not sure about the performance of the 6 although I hear it's thirstier than Tara Reid at an awards ceremony after-party.

Pretty good cars actually, just never really got the marketing it could've used.

Agree with ron though, the 6's can be pretty thirsty.

Hey Mate,

Hows everything going?

Yea was thinking that on the Territory, but thinking that it might be a little 'to big'...

Was thinking of having a bit of a better look into the Territory as well...

Thanks for the reminder..

Main issues with escapes we're seeing these days, front wheel bearings are common failures, which isnt major, but lately Mazda with the escapes sister the Tribute and the escape are starting to get a few transmission failures, that gets ugly, and expensive....
