Its all ok to use a small engine to move a large heavy vehicle, as long as it isnt too highly stressed. Ive seen first hand what happens when you squeeze a small motor too hard in a factory application, namely the ZD30 Nissan (Read Renault) 3ltr 4cyl diesel. As fitted to Navaras they run 8lbs of boost and are quite reliable but the same motor when fitted to the Patrol then runs 17lbs from factory and have a bad habit of sh*tting themselves, costing around $9k to rebuild correctly. Our friendly local 4WD wrecker reckons he could sell a couple a week, if he could just get good stock.

It would be a shame if this kind of thing happens to Fraud as well... You cant realistically get a quart from a pint pot, well at least not for a decent length of time..

would have thought a deisel option would have been better ,I mean there already going to be putting it into the territory cant understand why they are introducing 2 new engines when 1 would have been sufficient to do so ,it would have been less costly to develop the deisel for both surely.
