It seems you still aren't getting it.

The public hear about "hoon crackdowns" and "defect blitzes" .. yet the general public dont see police and go "thank god they defected that car because its so low" or "thank god they defected that car for its oversized wheels."

Do you honestly think your avereage citizen goes "wow .. I've seen less low cars around lately.. thank god the police are stamping out this hoon problem"

It's the POLICE doing this. Officers don't care about votes for government. They don't go "yeh I'll defect this car because it'll get the PM more votes" .. so what's their reasoning?

Again.. you have laid down a completely invalid point.

Unless of course, you believe that police are trained to target modified vehicles for the better of the government.

Hmmm work vs cops context...

Bloke at work has painted a big ass sign over his head been caught pissed on the job taking unscheduled breaks and on his last warning. Now he's complaining that he's being targeted by management whilst the other guys who keep their heads down and on the job dont have an issue...

Mom and Pop in the plain jane camry pull up at a set of lights beside a performance vehicle that stands out like dogs balls and may look like its heading for or from trouble, Snr Sgt Plod pulls up behind said vehicles and has a directive from above that he has to do a number of RBT's before the end of his shift.

Which car for the point of making it worth your while would you be pulling over...

So you guys know every car the cops pull over in Vic? You happen to know for a fact that they never target rusty sh!t heaps and defect the buggery out of them? The people who own rusty sh!t heaps are most likely not going to be on the internet whinging about cops cause they probably don't have the means to afford a computer. Only whiney b!tches like us on here who can actually afford decent cars and the internet make a big deal about it.

You wanna own a car that's either side of average then get used to the attention.

Well if it makes any difference that night they were pulling over everything with 4 wheels no matter what it was or who was driving it.

I'm talking about the Lilydale blitz btw, you know the topic this thread use to be about...

 GOLD. New topic needs to be started for this debate. Loving it! Some very valid points though! How many cars are out there that shouldn't be. Yet our vehicles are kept in tip top condition are targetted.

This post makes no sense.

The whole idea of defecting a vehicle is that it is UNSAFE. That is why they call a vehicle UNROADWORTHY.

Police do NOT target rusty sh*t heaps. If they were to 'crack down' on them, they would meerely be doing their job.

However, the majority of defects that I have had, and with every other person with a modified vehicle that I've spoken to, is that they are STUPID, UNJUST, and 99% of the time the vehicle that is defect is NOT AS UNSAFE as any other 'standard' car out on the road.

Your point is invalid.
