Posted 15/09/09 09:58 AM Share Posted 15/09/09 09:58 AM Hi Guys.Just replaced my EXED Chip with a Capa flash x3.I want to resell it but have no idea about it. Can anyone give me some info on it and roughly how much should I be selling it for? Can people justplug it into their BAs or does it need to go to a tuner to tune it? Any info is appreciated. Cheers

Our web based XMap software is available free to custom tune for accurate results. The XEDE is an interceptor style Engine Management System. It generates changes in fueling and ignition timing by changing the factory ECU’s load and crank reference input signals. It has the additional functions of boost control, two stage intercooler water spray control or potentially any other on/off or PWM function including injector drive for an additional injector. The XEDE can generate data logs and importantly can also store two separate programs which can be changed at the flick of a switch while driving, e.g. High/Low boost or Power/Economy programs.Through easy installation using either a direct plug-in harness or wire-in harness, the XEDE allows you, the programmer, to fully custom tune almost any vehicle’s parameters using XMap software to give the most accurate result for your customer. How the XEDE Works The XEDE Processor integrates with an existing (usually factory) Engine Management System. The operation of the XEDE is to modify the signals (Voltage or Frequency and Crankshaft Reference signals) before the main PCM/ECU sees the signals. By changing the values of these signals, the resultant outputs from the PCM will be changed. If, for example, we effectively reduce the voltage that the PCM sees on the MAP sensor wire at Full Load, the PCM will see a signal that equates to less load. Using this modified input signal, the PCM will open the injectors for less time as it expects the engine is under less load and therefore requires less fuel, thus leaning out the mixtures. Moving the crankshaft reference signal will move the ignition timing (timing advance).Benefits The benefits of using an XEDE over other tuning options are:Most factory parameters are retainedCold start functions Idle control Knock sensor functions Closed loop control Limp home operating strategies Fan and Air Conditioner controls Immobiliser functions Fast Tuning in Real TimeWith over 15 years experience in tuning engine management systems – both factory and aftermarket, Lachlan and his design team incorporated what they believe to be the best functions from all the engine management systems they had tuned into the XEDE’s tuning software – XMAP. This means fast on-screen tuning in real time.Base Tuning Maps SuppliedChipTorque’s extensive database of performance programs collated from many instances of custom tuning in Australia and the US can give you a great start point for your tuning. Base maps can be emailed on request Not Processor SpecificCan be tuned to auto / manual / BMW / Mitsubishi / Subaru regardless of current software in factory ECU.Cost Effective Tuning Solution No long startup time like learning factory software tuning XMap tuning software available for free download from ChipTorque’s XEDE internet site www.xede.com.au Cheaper and easier than using an aftermarket stand alone engine management system Can be tuned at any time, in the car, anywhere Customer Support Ongoing local Research & Development Expanding product range Tuning email and phone support available FeaturesSupport for hall and reluctor type crank and/or cam timing signals 0.1 degree accuracy on timing adjustments Support for analogue or frequency MAF and MAP/load signals 0.1% fullscale accuracy on MAF, MAP and TPS adjustments Two unique tuning map banks that allow optional setup for dual map operation Internal Storage space for up to 12 tuning maps Up to 400 adjustment points per tuning map User configurable load and RPM axes, input and output variables, adjustment range, and math function for each tuning map Minimum 100rpm breakpoints and 1% load point adjustability Two high current outputs for boost control, water spray or auxiliary injector, etc. Unit has a fully sealed, rugged and lightweight housing User configurable data logging of XEDE signals using XMap (requires PC connection to XEDE during logging) Live data display through XMap Password protection for map data stored in the XEDE Processor using XMap

I sold mine for $160 18months back but it had the complete loom and plug is adapter(ie no need to have it spliced in) but have seen them on ebay go for as little as $50. Good luck with the sale, alot of people use these as door stops now.
