Maybe speak to the dealer you bought it off as this would definately be covered under warranty. Is the car modified at all?Failing a dealer, you could look up Dominello Transmissions, they do some very good work.

Some dealers can be very painful when it comes to warranty. IF you are in Western Sydney I would recommend Peter Warren Smithfield, they have a very good service department. It seems that when it was hot the converter would slip then grab causing the thump, I fitted a trans cooler and it has not done it since and the shifts feel better as well. By the way the car is stock with no mods done except for the F6 CAI.
