Posted 10/09/09 12:06 AM Share Posted 10/09/09 12:06 AM (edited) Word has it some new laws came in that make them MAJOR DEFECTABLE.Are all whitewall methods illegal? I hear of companies that shave off the tyre size / load etc to make the white walls fit nicley. I got 235/40/18's and was wondering if anyone else has whitewall'ed theirs? And if they get hassled by the popo for it.Also anyone recommend anywhere I can go to get mine done (in melb?) Or anyone mobile? Posted 10/09/09 03:17 AM Author Share Posted 10/09/09 03:17 AM ok just asked a cop I know and he said:" If you buy them new, they are o.k. They need to have been printed at the time of manufacture. If you have existing tyres modified, they become unroadworthy. "What a load....if I put masking tape on my tyres, its unroadworthy?!?@ sheesh
