It goes away within 40 seconds of the car moving off, only using very light throttle. Car is an 03 ba xr6 turbo stock with 4 spd auto done 78000km, Ford have run it through a diagnostic and it came up as running fine, decided to check the plugs today while I was re torquing the exhaust manifold bolts. Pulled out coil #2 and found a crack running down the body from where the wire loom plugs into it, #1 has a crack along the coil body and the others weren't as bad but still have a crack her and there.Any one had a problem with the coils cracking. When doing my plugs I also noticed that coil 1 and 2 had cracks in them, but mine were hairline cracks and not as bad as your.I also have the issue that you describe but it seems to be getting better for some reason. However my car does not have the smoothest idle and will miss and pop sometimes. My guess is coils or even stuffed injectors (all stock atm).I am going to replace my coils with a set of new genuine items before I get it tuned. You can get new genuine coils on ebay for under 200 for a set of 6. Over the counter price at ford spare parts is $50+ per coil depending on the dealer. While the coil is cold the crack is wide open, once heat is generated around the engine the gap closes. Also noise could be induced through the coil also while the crack is open (I'm pretty sure the coil packs and IP cable would be shielded to prevent induced noise).I purchased some new coils off Ebay hopefully they are OK.Cheers Alf. The two in the pictures are the worst of the lot.
