Thanks mate.

I asked the guy from ebay if I could pickup. This was his response:

the full kit is $990 for buy it now, but I dont offer pickups as I work from home, thanks.

I then send his this message:

Hi mate

Very interested, but I want to look before buying. I wont spend this sort of money without being able to see the quality of workmanship first, you would know, some of these fibreglass replicas are awful.

Please let me know how we can arrange this. Call me anytime.

Cheers

Tim.

Has been 3 days and recieved no reply.

WTF?

From what I can understand, the one my mate bought was from spoilertek? pretty sure anyways. Then a month or so after he bought that, this guy is selling them on ebay with a new username but will all the same info and photos so Im assuming he used to work for spoilertek and is now working from home. Sounds a bit sus though that he wont let you look at it beforehand

Has anyone purchased a body kit off this guy? If so how was the quality? Any feedback would be appreciated as I'm considering purchasing one off him.

hey redback, I got a bf gt front bar off the same seller,

and the quality was pretty good, it cost me 500 (inc postage) and another 500 to prep n paint all one color,

just two things with the fitment, the upper bit in the middle seems a tad further back than the factory one, ie, small gap between bonnet centre and top centre of bumper, its not too bad but im a picky cnt:)

and the fog lights were a fairly poor fit, I didnt fit them first which would have required some cutting glueing, wiring ect......and ended up not putting them on at all,

I just kept going and meshed the holes ass well till I figured out what I was going to do with them, then I thought it looked good so im going to cut the fog light brackets out and mesh it off properly, which looks pretty good, plus I havnt seen another one like it so....yeah

sorry, no pics just yet:)

Sweet I didnt realise until now that id duped it :loser:

I got a reply from him about wanting to see before I buy:

hi buddy, I can understand that you would prefer to look before you purchase but as I work from home I can not offer that option. I advise you to purchase it from a retailer instead, thanks.

Also has the GT kit.

Fairly cheap, postage would be minimal too, with me being in Brisbane.

What sort of price is it to paint? (properly)

How weak really is fibreglass?

If I hit a concrete parking square block thing softly, would it break?

Or is it a little more tough than I imagine?

oh just a funny one too, 4 days after I put the fglass bumper on I was driving in torrential rain and pulled out from behind a car to overtake and ran into a dead roo on the road(just couldnt see the bugger till too late, all I could do was hit it square), it was nearly 2ft deep and it hit bloody hard, I thought id smashed the bar and ripped the cooler off, it lifted my front end off the ground then the rear.

so ive pulled over and the cooler was still there and I was shocked that the bottom lip of the bar was still there in good nick, so it must have a pretty good amount of flex, and only cracked the new paint a bit and smashed all my mesh work back, it just stunk of wet rotting half cooked roo, full gag material, big chunks were still attached to the u bolts on my exhaust lol:)

so yeah, it was stronger than I expected it to be but I wouldnt be messing with the parking square thingy's they make a mess of normal bumpers let alone fglass, I pull up a good foot before them now, and angle parking gutters:)

I ended up getting a kit off Fibresports in Taren Point NSW. For a fibreglass kit it seems to be really well made. At the moment I have only rubbed back the front bar and sprayed it with primer filler. Not too much of a drama with the test fitting. The fibreglass is really thick and strong, it doesn't seem to be too flimsy. Thanks to Brett I was able to also get the Dark Argent paint. I used Protec this go as they have been pretty good with their colour matching. I will post some photos once it is all sprayed and fitted.
