I think 3's are definalty possible in perfect conditions. Would love to see it go better but traction will become a huge problem at that level even with some awesome tyres. Like it was said earlier its 80 - 120 that's a better gauge. I know before mine was stripped down if you blinked it was over. I always dreamed of being able to put my foot down at that speed & not just get abit of spin but leave 2 black marks, Now that would be quick!!!

It would all come down to grip IMO.

I believe saying that 3's or 4's are optimistic is wrong. The Bugatti Veyron runs 2.5's from memory which go with it's flat 10 second quarter mile's and there are a number of XR6T's running faster than or very close to that...

Like people say the 80-120 is a better gauge to use as in most cases (not some :bangcomputer: ) it takes traction out of the equation...and with these cars is much in our favour!

I reckon a veyron just might be set up a little better to be quick than a family sedan with power bolted on, which an xr6t is.

making a comparison like that is about as accurate as the old "my mates skyline has xxx kw's and I can beat him so mine must have a squillion"....

a veyron has one goal- be quick- stupid quick. its not roomy, has no vision out of anywhere but the front window, wont tow the boat or van, cant do a school run etc.

ford had very different goals when designing an xr6t- make it capable of doing what a taxi can with slightly better bragging rights than the compitition.

you can bolt in a stack more power, but it will NEVER be able to put it down like a supercar- unless you totally rebuild it so that its not an xr6t anymore- only by its outer skin...

Lol kael cant compare a well built hyper car making 1001hp to a poorly built ford taxi running 10's with bolt on nizpro kit!

Strongly beleive 3/4 sec 0-100 times are very difficult in real life as most people seem to struggle getting decent 60 footers as it is!

In my standard FG F6 I managed a couple of 4.7 to the 100. Was using a Performance Box and had a passenger. Averaged around 4.9 though. Now have 330rwkw and have only broke into the 4's once...no traction. Tyres are past their due though. Can't decide on what rubber to get next. Daniel, what tyres did you end up with?

Not sure if its going to be a waste and might as well change the rims to get some wider rubber as well. Either way, with new rubber..I should be seeing low to mid 4's.

Veyron may do a 2.5, but AWD, massive tyres (street though!), a complex launch system, quad turbo w-16 all come into play here for an effortless, seamless launch. You cant assume an xr6t that does 10 sec quarter can do 0-100 in 2.5 secs as well. While it may come close, it wont do it consistantly and it is not designed for that kind of power. Compare the way a Veyron looks when launched to a 10 sec falcon for example.

Anything under 5 is fantastic IMO. Under 4, you are either using MTs on a sticky surface, or you are King Launch. Under 3, you are lying.

Oh, and dont use a phone or hand held stop watch and brag how you got a 4.5. GPS systems are the only way to go.

Just to follow up. I ended up choosing a pair of Toyo Proxes T1R's. Same rims...so 245's.

Managed 4.4 sec to the 100. Getting a fair bit of spin in 1st still. But I think I could shave a couple of tenths from that time. Will keep playing with the launch.
