hi guys

I currently have a 04 xr6 NA with extractors and cat back exhaust. soon to come is a high flow cat, typhoon cai with K&N panel filter, and underdrive pulley.

I also had in mind about a custome tune, probably at HPF.

I wanted to get some opinions though, I definitely am looking for more power in my car, otherwise I wouldnt be doing the above mods, but if I got a custome tune, how would that affect the driveability of the car and also the petrol side of things?

I dont want to get a tune where it will be achieving great power, but will start damaging things and causing problems, as it is my daily, and only car.

would the power be worth the price for the custome tune? (im guessing clost to $1000, correct me if im wrong)

also 1 more thing, would bigger injectors increase power? noticeable power? would it be worth it?

and would it be better to get a bigger fuel pump when replacing the injectors?

why do we have a n/a section when all the answers in here is put a snail on it

Why call yourself boost kid when you have an N/A, it sorta had to be said didn't it?

But you raise a good point, why do we have an N/A section?

Don't think you'll be needing bigger injectors, tune-only will only give you a mild increase and more than likely better economy.

You will not need larger injectors, if the tune is done correctlty, it will not affect your everyday driving, unless you get it tuned on 98 and then start to drive on 95 or 91 octane.

You will gain maybe 10 rwkw with just a tune

Hi, a tune will definitely help maximise the potential of your vehical.

Talk to your tunner about what your trying to acheive.

I have a similar setup, BA-NA, headers, exhaust, high flow cat, cai, K&N airfilter and underdrive.

Went from 167rwkw untunned to 188.7rwkw after the tune. Improved driveablity, fuel economy (unless I give it a boot full), and made it just a little bit more plesant to drive all round (I love it actually).

As my son is learning to drive and for insurance reasons cant drive our other cars he will be driving this car on his "P's", that's why we purchased an NA.

Hope that reply was usefull.

Cheers

James.
