seems to me the single biggest weakness (read pain in the @rse) on the 'Ts is the design of the rear end....my car is solid as a rock and very smooth but what really lets the car down is the miscellaneous clunks, groans, grinds and pings coming from the rear (the cars, not mine).

the differential centre bush is a recognised nightmate, clearly an ordinary design for a high power application......but I also seem to get dodgy clunks and moans (axle bearings rear left just replaced).Seems shortcuts were made in this area of design, basically just using the basic architecture of the taxi and putting in an LSD. Doesnt seem up the the job for even stock high power applications.

ok, that's my whinge. discuss.

I am happy with mine, 106000klms,runs 9.4's @145mph, and still has not hurt the bushes or the centre, don't know another car that the rear can cope with so much, thought a supra one was tough, but me son ran it at the drags the other week (the bigger diff) and smashed the diff, with under 300rwks

cant complain about mine either. Has always had more power through it than it deserved & has been down the track probably nearly 50 times & its still quiet. I dont think the car makes a single noise that it shouldnt. It does only have 35000klm on it though but it sees some ordinary roads.

I think it has alot to do with the transmission. I believe the manuals are much harder on the rear end. We notice that the rear diff bushes are always worse on manual cars, they also tramp alot harder for some reason...
