Has anyone had an issue with there Traction control on a BF Mk11 F6 auto? Had a CAPA 98 octane tune on it via a X3, but flashed back to stock now.

Mine is only too happy to spin the rear tyres with the traction control on, the light does come on but does not flash (should it?)and stop wheel spin...

I find that soon after if I check the DTC codes, it has logged code, U0100 (Lost Communication ECU/PCM A) Both with stock tune or CAPA tune..

It will not bring on any engine check light and does not drive any differently, but I'm sure it shouldn't do it..

I can clear the code OK with one of several devices I have, but seems to come back if the road is wet and the car breaks traction for a short period, (more so with the CAPA tune on).

Thanks guys for any ideas or past experiences with this problem

Traction on, of course you'll get wheel spin when trying to brake the barrier, but not as bad cos your engine would cut it off trying to stop you from wheel spinning or loosing control. Light will come on but wont flash so that's normal...

Driving it the wet, it will happen also (more frequently if you ask me as it will loose it a little if your foot is heavy) :)

Whereas your asking with the CAPA also, more boost, power, etc so it will happen alot quicker and more often.

My experience, Traction control is always off when I drive, I have made a habit that whenever I start my car I turn it off... Except for days when its raining cos it is a lot more dangerous...

I know what you're talking about Peter. Since I had my car played with using VCM the traction control is virtually non existant. When traction is lost the light will flash for a second or two while it tries to control the wheelspin then after that traction control is turned off and the light comes on and cant be turned off until the car is turned off. Weird. I dont know why it does it? When it was stock the traction control would do its job without turning off even in the wet.

I have a xr6t BF series 2 ute and I find when I have up to 3/4 throttle with traction on the wheel just spin. But if I have full throttle with traction control, the traction control work well.

Does that to me as well if I give it a hiding for a while. I don't think it's to do with the tune though, I have had it happen a couple of times when the car was still standard.

I think I has a "Give up mode" and decides that you wanna drive like a d1ckhead, either that, or they turn it off to try and help end the torture :beerchug:

When the traction control can't cope with the exessive wheel spin it just disables itself unitl you restart the car. Pretty normal on earlier models when you up the HP.
