I put Pirelli Dragons on my stock 17s and I really like them; quieter than the dunlops, good in the wet, not sure about the wear rate though - only had them on for a few thousand kms. I can't comment on any other tyres since these are the only ones I've had on.

I also bought these for the sedan.... am really happy with them

IB what pressure do you recommend???

Are the KU36's ok in the wet???

38-40 cold and they will last longer. 50k out of my originals.

And if you can afford Pirelli dragon I also agree. In saying the OEM tyres suit these cars, there are better available.

I have only had mine on the car for less than a month and there hasn't been much rain in that time, so I can't give you a real good answer on that one, but they haven't caused any scary moments yet.

Mat has said they suck in the wet. I'll see if he can update us on his opinion of the KU36's.

In the wet mine havent been that good (but they have seen some skids so will be replaced soon!) but certainly are worse tyres around.

That said, I think if your a decent driver, wet weather driving shouldn't be an issue on any tyre. Its not hard to drive to the conditions, traffic, keep off boost etc. That said I did a hills run and it rained for a while and they werent too bad, Not great certainly than the bob jane all rounders that the mrs has on her car

But Summers just around the corner so worry about winter next year :D

Thanks for the reply guys.

See the wife drives it all week and I dont want any scary moments for her so am thinking of something better suited to safety than outright performance in the dry.

Will see how I go. Have a cruise down the GOR on the 19th so will get a set after that so am still open to ideas and comments.

Cheers

Have had Michelin Pilot Preceda PP2's on for about 4K now - best tyre I've had. Wet weather grip and noise level is much better than the dunlop OEM's (which after they were half worn were scary in the wet and very noisy). Not the cheapest tyre around but sometimes, you do actually get what you pay for. Wet weather performance was most important to me and I have no complaints at all. Can't really see any wear on them at this stage so they're not super soft which is an added bonus. Our mondeo runs Bridgestone RE050A's at the same size and they're great too but expensive and we'll be lucky to get 30K out of them so I'll probably switch over to the Michelins when time comes as well.
