Seven weeks ago I was rear-ended and shoved under a 4WD. There was a thread going around at the time. There was no structural or mechanical damage fortunately, but plenty of new panel's required. All up the cost of repairs (insurance) was $30k+ apparently.

Well, picked up the car this afternoon, it drives OK, no different than before and the paint job on the new panels looks fine and all the gaps etc appear to be evenly spaced BUT, things look different. I'm sure some of the replacement parts are not OEM and I'm convinced there are some subtle bits and pieces missing!!!

I need to compare mine to another BF MkII F6 even R-Spec if possible, 'cause I need to satisfy myself that I'm not mistaken so I can take my concerns up with the insurance company and/or the repairer, who by the way have given me excellent customer service over the past 6 weeks whilst the car has been with them.

I'm after a favour. I'm hoping someone might be available over the weekend for 15-20 mins and let me compare the inside of my engine compartment and front guards, grill/insert, inside the boot to check if I've not been dudded on the replacement panels/parts.

I'm in Murrumbeena, near Oakleigh, and happy to travel to you if someone has some time up their sleeve.

Cheers guy's.....Dave

I have heard that f6 owners have had trouble with getting original bumpers once they hit the panel shops, look under your rear bar and make sure they have used the original plastic bumpers and not a fiberglass replacement.

I hope that gives you a starting point.

Cheers. :gunsfiring:

Hey Dave, Send R-Spec a PM as he has one.

He works down in Pakenham on the weekends so maybe you could meet him at his work and have a look at his.

Cheers

James

The other option is to go to a dealer with a BF F6 and have a close look.

There are also heaps of photos around.

As for the front bar, I would be checking it out to make sure it is plastic and not fibreglass

Hi Granddad

If it helps - I'm in Melbourne and own a F6 Tornado - the Tornado will assist you in the front end department - however

will bring you no joy in terms of the rear repairs ..

Gents's,

Met up with a forum member yesterday and I'm comfortable that everything is in order. That is, all the right bits in the right places. I've got an issue with an error code telling me that the boost sensor is not operating correctly (could be a broken wire) as we've swapped in a new sensor, but the error keeps coming back. We've also cleared the code a couple of times, but the fault is still present. Anyway, my Panel Shop and Ford Service Dept have been talking and the car goes in on Wed for repair.

If you get to read this Peter, thanks for your time yesterday. What a coincidence that I neally ended up with your car a month or so ago! I love your entertainment set-up, it's brilliant.

Dave
