So Expensive Daewoo are going to release a twin cab version ute in the "SS" guise. Sounds like a good move to me. I wonder if Ford will respond? I can imagine all those folks who want a V8 4 door but the boss won't let them now being able to say, get this for me and theres NO FBT, cause it's a ute. A neat canopy and it would not look much different to a station wagon. I wonder what the suspension setup is?

Coming Mid-September

Get out there and perform with the Crewman SS. One drive of this high-performance sports machine and you'll realise you not only own the road, you dominate every square inch of it. Size counts, and this massive beast has all you need to make one hell of a big impression.

RRP from $46,140*

+ on-road costs*

Overview

• 225kW 5.7 litre Generation III V8 engine

• Side impact airbags

• 17" alloy wheels

• Full lower body kit and foglamps

• Sports seats with embroidered SS motif

The power rating is a bit disapointing  Why not the 245kw the sedan gets?

Because of the length of the car, the Crewman (over 5 mtrs) will have to have the markings on the back the same as any long vehicle over 4.5 metres.

Therefore they can only park for one hour in residential areas, one hour in CBD areas and can turn left or right from the centre lane.

Pretty pointless for a supposedly family/tradesmen vehicle.

I bet the NSW Police get them as replacements for the Expensive Daewoo Rodeo. If that's the case there will be plenty at the panelbeaters because some of the young GD Coppers will get their ambition confused with their ability!

Ha HA HA

I'd hate to admit this on this forum, but.....

I was very much interested in getting the Expensive Daewoo dual cab ute 4x4 when I first heard about it late last year.

Then I heard about the 'T'.

Decision was a no brainer!

But (again), in 3 years time when it's time to replace the Prado, the dual cab may well be in for a look!

One of my work mates is considering trying one out when it comes time to trade his Courier dual cab. Doesn't mind giving up a 4X4 to see what sedan comfort with a ute would be like. As with any new model it is a bit of a gamble fleet wise, but it might be worth it to try one out.
