hey all,

the mrs car has just been lowered and a camber kit installed along with new upper control arm bushes...

well the tyre joint now tell me it needs a new Ball joint too before they can do a proper wheel alignment on it, No worries went and bought one for $24.

Am I right in thinking this connects to the end of the upper control arm and hangs downwards.... if so it looks like it needs to be "pressed" in with a Hydro ram????

never done one before so curious if I can do this myself at home without a press??

I rang the tyre shop and asked WTF as they had to remove the upper control arm to fit the new super-pro bushes, all they had to do was undo 1 more bolt and wallah, ball joint out... but nooooooo "sorry sir we dont do ball joints", im like "well your shop front says fkn suspension components doesnt it!!"

sick of nufties around this town :ielh:

There is a duty of care that comes with running a workshop, if you see something that isn't right, you should at least attempt to fix it and let the customer know before it leaves.

Yes the ball joints need to be pressed in - I wouldn't bother trying to do it yourself bud, we do them all the time.

Surprised the mob that were doing the work couldn't get it outsourced, and that they didn't recommend the lower inner bushes and new lower ball joints

Once you have the arm out it will take about two minutes to press the old one out and the new one in
