Hi Guys,

Got my x2 and loaded the 10psi tune from capa then ran it up on a dyno to check everything was OK. the only thing I didn't think of while it was on there was how hard the auto box changes from 1 - 2 (4 speed).

The flash 2 has an adjustment for the shift firmness, but which way softens it up? -% or +%?

Other the the really hard hit from 1 - 2 under light to medium throttle, I'm wrapped in the power it's producing.

Cheers,

Ben

It gives me the options with the capa generic 10psi. wastegate, idle, afr, shift 1-2, then shift 2-3 then shift 3-4 and a couple others that I can't remember. When I go into the setting for 1-2shoft, its at 0%, just need to know which way to adjust it. I took it to -10%, but couldn't spot much of a difference, didn't feel comfortable adjusting too far at the risk of a newb breaking something.

The xcal2 on the capa webiste states this adjustments:

User Adjustable Feature:

Fuel Adjustment

Spark Adjustment

Adjust Rev Cut / Limit

Fuel Injector Size Selection

Idle RPM Speed

Boost Adjustment for Turbo Cars

Automatic Transmission Shift Firmness

Cooling Fan Temperature Adjust

Read / Clear OBD-II Trouble Codes

Diff gear change

*Boost Adjustment made by selecting program with pre-determined boost level

For those what are wondering the same as me, I called Capa today, and they said to adjust the shift 1-2 to -25%. I haven't test driven it yet since changing the shift firmness, but will let you know if it has improved.

Cheers,

Ben

Well, I changed the shift from 1 - 2 to 25%, still a bit firmer then the factory shift, but at least it doesn't cause a massive clunk and jolt through the driveline now. It still gives a nice twitch in the arse end when it changes from 1st to 2nd under anything over 1/2 throttle which is awesome. It even does the same twitch at 95km/hr :headbang2:

When the shift firmness was at 0%, it was almost impossible to hold onto under WOT 1 - 2.

I left 2 - 3 at 20% and 3 - 4 at 15%, seems to a good combination.

Cheers,

Ben

I didn't know the ft2 can do all that. What can the X3 do. As I'll be getting a tuner box next week but don't know the benifit of the x3 over the ft2?

As Adrian6T stated, it probably depends what your tuner allows you to have access. It just so happens that the CAPA generic tunes do. If you're in Brissy, I'm happy to plug it in for you to see the options available.

Ben,

What did the DYNO look like after you had the CAPA 10psi tune put on? Did you have to make any changes? I currently have the 8psi tune on but haven't had time to get it onto the DYNO yet. So a bit worried about putting on the 10psi tune. My car is stock apart from exhaust.

Also, the changes you made to your shift changes, are those values you put up negative or positive.

Cheers.

I moved the shift adjustment negitive, 1 -2 is still a bit hard, but can be smoothed out if you use the tip tronic and change to 2nd under acceleration. I think a lot of my noise is coming from the diff now though as I think the bush is shagged.

They only checked afr and overboost on the dyno and all was good with no need for changes, however, because every car is different, if you are going to put the 10psi tune in, get it on a dyno and make sure it's all ok.

Only mods I have done is a redback quad system (cat back) and K&N filter.

Cheers,

Ben
