Ok guys, heres the problem.

My xr6 NA runs on gas and petrol. I have just had the xr6t cat back exhaust with a brand new x-force hi-flow cat installed on my car and I am not happy with the result. :crybaby:

The car feels like it has lost power, more than normal running on gas.

Also around the 2.5 to 3K revs mark, the exhaust is raspy. It actually sounds like a 4 banger.

What are my options with

1. Gaining back pressure without removing the 'T exhaust

2. Removing the raspy note.

My thoughts are (removing centre muff) or (replacing rear muff with bigger/smaller(help me out here)) or installing resonator/s.

Now for you guys with NA, who have done this mod, what are your thoughts. How's it sound and what would/have you done differently.

Thanks in advance. :secret:

yeah. so if I just get a 2.5 inch system from the cat back installed it would sound better.

Im really looking at leaving the xr6t system on but is there a way I can increase backpressure. Like smaller/bigger mufflers. Or resonators. Please help

yes a decent single 2.5 will sound far better, I think in the long run ull be better off getting the single like this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORD-BA-BF-FALCON-X...alenotsupported

you could fit it urself then sell the xr6t system for $120-150

if you start buying and fitting other mufflers etc trying to get it better your easy going to be more out of pocket

mntxr, I think the reason for the loss in power is because of the gas. And jasol, thanks heaps, but I will have to leave it for a while and then try to sell the system later. Atm, I cannot fit it myself as I have a y piece fitted just after the cat for the 'T system. So I will have to talk to my exhaust guy and see what he says. I might just have to leave it till I can save and upgrade properly. Thanks.
