bump!

... since I started this thread, add turbo car no.

9. Cordia T (written off after 2 months)

10. another Cordia T (now sold)

11 GTiR (now with Power FC)

... so 4 turbo cars at home (WRX, STi, Ford T, GTiR), plus

shortly ... my 19yo has a Starlet, which he is about to transplant a turbo motor.

The T is my third Turbo. My first was a Wrx 99 mod with not many mods. My second was a WRX again 02 mod but with a lot more mods, went really well had about 188kw at all four wheels. Now loving the rear wheel power of the T, means alot more sideways action :censored: Not bad considering I just turned 21 and have had two other XR's plus a commodore (I was young and stupid).

Hey all,

I've previously owned only '1' turbo charged car with '2' turbos.

First was a 1994 Imported Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo. Still love the shape and all the techo-gadget-wizardy. Upon taking delivery, and only expecting basic modifications, taking around whoever owned it previously in Japan decked it out with some very serious stuff:

There was more but can't remember (2001)

Needless to say, got a lot more than I bargained for, despite the car being bought at $23500, fully complianced and on the road, being just 20 at the time and only having driven one that was completely stock, I had no idea what I was in for.

Driving back to the Mornington Penisula in VIC, three days steady drizzle, oil on the roads, and trying to accerate out of a corner (without even trying to anything hair brained) saw me fish tailing up the road, over correcting, spinning out (720 degrees) and facing oncoming cars. I swore :pinch: and :msm: myself.

Got home, parked it, and finally scratched my head for a while. Poking and prodding around and finally finding

SARD Fuel injectors (660cc I think).

Nismo fuel pressure regulator.

Nismo GTR fuel pump.

HKS T-25G turbos.

HKS dump pipes.

HKS side mount intercoolers.

Apexi AVC-R.

Blitz Super Sound Blow-Off Valves.

(to name a few)

An entire weapons cache of modifications. Insurance companies laughed at me, coppers scowled at me, domestic V8 owners shouting offers of 'a bowl of rice' and other import owners always wanting to square off at the lights.

It was an 18 month experience, good or bad, I'm still unsure. The cost of maintaining a ball tearer like that one, with high priced parts, servicing and the cost of two new turbos caused me to pass it on, the buyer was forewarned, told and retold and then sold...

to an 18year old (may he rest in peace).

I do love my old mans car though, now being 24, with an immaculate 2004 XR6T Ute, he's still uneasy about letting me drive his, 2004 Audi RS6 Avant Wagon

Always riding with me, and feeling like I'm 16 again on my L's, this car is pure magic, so quick, so fast, sounds so good, handles unbelievably well with the Quatto AWD hook-up and DSG gearbox...yada yada blah blah blah.

But,

I love my XR6T and that's that.
