hey I just bought a new fuel filter for my ba. took out the old one (exactly the same as the new one), put the new one in and its leaking from the rear connection. I've checked it all but it just leaks when the pump is running. I've also had a blonde moment and forgotten which way it flows. towards the front of the car right? any suggestions?

The last time I did my filter it leaked, you have to use two spanners and give the nut an extra hard nip up to stop it, and the fuel flow is to the front of the car.

Mine leaked when I did mine too, Just take the connections off and give the sealing surfaces a wipe with your finger. That makes sure you dont have any grit or dirt in between the tapers that seal. (it doesnt take much)

Then as said before two spanners and give them a good nip up.

Oh yeah fuel flows from rear to front. The filter, filters fuel on the pressure line to filter the fuel before it gets to the injectors etc.

haha I got the direction sorted. was 99.999% sure which way it went, with it being quite simple logic and all, but just that little bit not sure, like it might be on a return line or something. anywho!!

I've tried undoing it and redoing a couple of times but still leaking. I'll try again tomorrow morning with a fresh start and some sunlight.

cheers anyway peoples
