I am fricken happy right now. I just phoned up Ford customer service to ask about my cars status and the nice lady on the other end said that it was finished at FPV today and that it has been shown as going wholesale. Excellent. Now it just has to be delivered to the dealership and go through Pre delivery, then it is mine :) I'm hoping it'll be at the dealer by Friday so I can have a look at it atleast and then pick the baby up early next week. I can't bloody wait..

@ ken. Ever since the call to Ford CS about 30 minutes before this post, time has almost stood still :( looks like you were right. The last few days will be unbearable. I'm still happy though. Yippy.

Hey Krash congratulations, your waiting is coming to an end!

Just wondering how long it took for your car to go through production? I rang Ford CS early today and they advised me that mine was scheduled to start production today. They also said that it would take a week before it will get to the dealership I ordered it from. Does this sound about right in your case?

I placed my order in June and have been waiting ever since..... and still waiting.......

ahhh, one of the best parts of the experience, just prior to delivery - I am re-living the anticipation right now..... :tears:

make sure though, if the truck carrying your car enters that dealership on Friday, ensure you have it before COB. Forget this Monday nonsence, that's just crazy talk, imagine knowing your car is there and you can't drive it!!

Mine was unloaded early Thursday afternoon (Thu before Easter) and drove it out of the dealership about half an hour after COB.

If I hadn't harrassed them every couple of hours starting 2 days prior, I would have gone without over Easter..............

Unfortunately, when the car arrives from Melbourne, it will have to be cleaned, tinted, alarmed, and all his other accessories fitted as well. This all takes time. And there will be a truck full of cars from Melbourne (possibly 8) dont forget! All dealerships are flat out at the moment, trying to keep up with demand. It's not just the factory running behind!

I would prefer picking up the car on Monday as opposed to Friday. Main reason being that my Pulsar SSS's sound system is getting pulled out on Monday morning and If monday is the pickup day (will find out tomorrow) I'll just have a day off work and get everything sorted (Bank cheque, Insurance etc). No pressure :) Plus the PD will take longer than usual because of the paint etc protection, window tinting, the upgrading to the herrod suspension kit's and other dealership add-ons. Oh and I mustn't forget the rubber bands take time to remove :)

In terms of build time etc. My car went on the production line last Tuesday, and was finished at FPV today. So basically 7 days from going on the line and going wholesale. Delivery is expected to be 2-3 days, so I suspect a Friday Delivery to the dealership for me. Then I'll take heaps of photo's of the car and expect to pick it up next week. PD is basically 2-3 days. I've waited almost 3 months so far, another 2-3 days PD won't hurt. Plus it'll give me a chance to finish the current house I am bricklaying and getting yet another claim before I pick up the car ;)

The dealer (Gregory's) have been pretty good. The salesman for my car has been great. When I ordered the car I asked for a 25th September delivery at the latest (because I have to be in nelson bay on the weekend of the 27th September). They said that it could be difficult, but it looks like they have done a great job and got it earlier than I expected. The other dealership I went to said October the earliest (plus the salesman there was a bit of a tosser).

Anyways, 82 days waiting so far only a hand full to go :)
