Time to ramp up the pressure.Demand to speak to the actual decision makers and not the chimps. You may well have already done so. Go over there freaking heads farkin. This stuff gets my dander up
Daniel Member 299 Member For: 21y 5m 16d Gender: Male Posted 28/08/09 07:33 AM Author Share Posted 28/08/09 07:33 AM OK, status update:RACV are a bunch of arrogant tw@s to be polite.. they refuse to speak to Ford/FPV on my behalf as it is 'not their job to do so' but claim it is up to Ford/FPV to sort out why the insert doesn't fit. Seems fair regarding Ford/FPV being the ones to step to the plate as they changed the bloody measurements of the bar or insert or both!Ford/FPV claim they aren't aware of any issues and that they need to have their "Tech" department look at why they don't fit each other, but that they won't be supplying a new bumper bar no matter what the case.I am living in fkn la la land where everyone is able to say "nah, I don't think ill help fix problems I caused to this PAYING customer, F*#^ off..." and I am at wits end! Both parties claim it is up to me to pay for a genuine bar, painting and fitting even though I bought a brand new FPV F6 and pay $2200-$3000 pa for insurance with RACV for 6yrs!What is worse is I didn't do the fkn damage in the first place, somebody hit me!Does anybody here work for Ford or FPV or have any advice?! An analogy would be repairing and repainting a single panel, if the paint has to be blended in over the entire vehicle for it to be a decent job then so be it. Not acceptable to just repaint the damaged section and hope for the best.Or...if your excess is less than the $800 option find a massive gutter somewhere and do a proper job on the entire bumper. Pretty stupid and unethical suggestion but it’s an option if everything else fails. What a cack of punts
cooltint Member 686 Member For: 21y 8m 3d Gender: Male Location: Gold Coast QLD Posted 28/08/09 08:43 AM Share Posted 28/08/09 08:43 AM Hi Daniel,A friend of mine here on the Gold Coast has experienced the very same problem with his BF F6. The problem as I believe it to be is that Ford has changed it's supplier of bumpers. They used to be made by EGR Plastics in Brisbane but are now supplied by a company near Ford in Broadmeadows. Apparently they were having issues with EGR including the colour matching. I can only assume they've had to remake the moulds and hence forth are a little different. The only options I can see that are going to work is either (A) find an old stock insert lying around somewhere or (B) see if EGR can reproduce the original style or © replace the bar completely.Shoot me a pm If you'd like to speak to my friend personally he doesn't have web access atm but I can get you his mobile.Sorry I couldn't offer any better soloutions.Cheers,Big AL

Daniel Member 299 Member For: 21y 5m 16d Gender: Male Posted 06/09/09 04:10 AM Author Share Posted 06/09/09 04:10 AM I have emailed EGR and followed up with photos etc...Seems they are able to help, but just in the midst of discussing it amongst themselves to see what the real issue was with the new moulding or materials.I am also in the middle of searching for some old stock laying around somewhere too, not easy. This has almost become a 2nd full-time job trying to fix!I'd say give them a go, EGR can do it if you'd like. Under-Pants Member 2,103 Member For: 16y 5m 24d Gender: Not Telling Posted 10/09/09 09:28 AM Share Posted 10/09/09 09:28 AM Not having a good feeling reading this thread, my insert has started to do a similar thing all on it's own, poking out from the two points where the vertical bits meet the top horizontal bit...as well as forming small gaps on the joins to the bar on either side like yours. Will take it to Fraud when I have my new run-around sh*tter to get me around and see what they have to say.Sorry to hear about your situation, completely unacceptable for an alleged high quality luxury vehicle IMO. Daniel Member 299 Member For: 21y 5m 16d Gender: Male Posted 15/09/09 06:45 AM Author Share Posted 15/09/09 06:45 AM My first one was exactly like yours, so I feel for you.. MY HONEST advice is if its under warranty, take it to Ford now now now and tell them to fix it.There has been 4 complaints to fairly high levels (1 being me) re this issue and at first they were trying to say they had heard nothing and don't know why it would happen. They now admit it has been mentioned by a few owners and its the swap in manufactures that has caused this issue.I am more than 100% sure of this now!The good news is my new insert was fitted this afternoon, made by the old supplier and it is back to how it should be!Ford did nothing but drive me insane with this issue and I would love to know why they couldn't do this when I first had a problem and not months and months later!Case closed for my issue; hope this helps other people in the future! (I'm positive it will)
