I think that the better residual for the GT-P will be the deciding factor. Its only a couple of hundred dollars a month more to lease the GT. Thanks for the input guys, I will try to source some further info on what Ford have done in the US, Plonky. May give me some more options.

Have a look at SVTang.com. It's a Mustang website but it has good info on the modular V8 with the SOOOOOOPER Charger!

The S/C 5.4 is putting out over 400kw at the motor according to CAPA - cost about $7,000 or thereabouts. I'm sure there would be less trouble with longevity of the S/C 5.4 than a modded XR6T which has had less developmental work at this stage.

However if you like the push in the back rush that the turbo gives, you will be disappointed if you expect the same type of delivery from the S/CV 5.4 - the supercharger builds torque with revs gradually just like an atmo motor but of course faster and more of it - but, you don't get the bang at low revs that a turbo produces and which is so addictive.

Go the blower on the Boss. With a full Herrod exhaust, a Unichip and maybe an intercooler 430-500kw would be pretty easy to achieve. Might cost a bit though as will the tyres you will need to replace every few months. CAPA's stage 2 kit with supercharger and intercooler should be out soon. What a weapon that's going to be.

I have only ever had turbos. Dad started with a Dick Johnson Grand Prix XE turbo in 1982/3. Since then I've had two TX5 turbo's, an MX-6 and an ET pulsar. All of these pale into comparison with the outputs talked here, but you are right in saying that the bang is so addictive. Don't think the funds will stretch for the S/C. May have to sell a child.......

You have to think alot about resale as well. The courier mail did a study on new cars and found that the BA XR6T held it's value like no other, it was the best around. Also... we're talking bang for your buck as mentioned earlier by others. The extra money your spending to get the GT-P, imagine that spent in dynosteve's dungeon of horrors :w00t: The place where innocent little T's get turned into tyre fryer's. By christ you'd have a Targa-Spec XR6T. Then as mentioned there's the insurance. Our rating one insurance costs us $554 a year for the T and another $500 a year for the Focus.

If I were you my dear fellow, the little 6 gun punk would be the way to go. And as a personal V8 lover and having owned an 11 second XC 2 door and still owning an XW GT, there is nothing more dis-satisfying than being passed by a bleedin' rude little six pot steamer!!

She's got too many K's on the clock. Noisy diff, bit of front end sag, the wholesalers won't even look at her!

I hear what you are saying ChrisT, I live in Brisvegas, that may be too close to Dynosteve than a man can resist!

In my opinion I would buy either the GT or GT-P. The problem with the "flagship car" is that every series and every model the car is improved with power gains etc. Look at the AU T series cars you buy an "exclusive" 220kw engine only to find it's whacked in the next XR8 sending resale to crap. Another example is the HSV clubsport cars in 1998-195kw, 1999-250kw, 2000-255kw, 2002-260kw and now 2003-285kw, your car becomes outdated very quickly. This will happen with the XR6T aswell as all cars but since the purchase $ isn't so high you don't get hurt as much.

With all that said if your a lucky rich buggar and money is like toilet paper buy the GT or GT-P their great cars and you will enjoy either one, it's only money after all! :thumbsup:

GT and GT-P are great - especialy the GT-P with its massive Brembo's.

As far as fun for your $$ goes you cant beat the XR6T - go for premium brakes, leather, sound and your set.

Go and see Redcliffe Dyno - he is making something like 400kw+ from his own XR6T - amazing stuff
