Granted mine is fully synthetic but I don't think the oil is a problemTechnically you mechanic is correct, most modern semi synthetics wont hurt a modern engine ( the first sign of an oil pressure issue the car would have let you know), don't forget the ford interval is 15000km's. If you are running shorter intervals and running a higher quality oil than the crap ford use, you will be fine.I think his attitude is a good reason to move on though..... I figure once I fit my cooler ect, Warranty is gone so I'l be servicing the car myself. The intervals between services is 7 500k's and the oil used is castrol full synthetic. Now im on the ball though.Just looking on the forums at oil choices, soo much info. Decided to opt with the Nulon 10W-40.I know this is a 'turbo' forum but would that be a good bet for my N/A xr6 ba?P.S.
