I bought the car in feb this year with 65000k's on the clock and have noticed a 'rattling' noise from the front of the engine. It didn't make this noise when I first bought the car and now seems to happen more frequently. The car is stock and has had all it's 'compulsory' services. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it just the timing chain? Thanks for your help.

When they dont rattle we tend to worry. At a guess, engine mount on the drivers side that puts up with a lot of heat.I.B.

Tighten it or piss it off. Noise will probably do the same

I'm using castrol edge sport 0w-40. Is this oil too thin? Should I use something else?
jacob_xr6turbo Donating Members 433 Member For: 17y 4m Location: Richmond, Melbourne Posted 15/08/09 12:39 AM Share Posted 15/08/09 12:39 AM I noticed my engine rattled/noisier with castrol edge 0/40. I put Shell helix in there 10/50 and it's much quieter.
