Definately comparable to such cultural icons like, Porridge, The Goons, Not The Nine O'Clock News, Red Dwarf, Cleb (f'ckn hilarious!!!). Yes.....when it comes to humour the poms are just sooo good at it........sh!t, you'd have to have a bloody good sense of humour to live in the place. :D AND......being a pom (by birth not choice!)myself I can compare. :D But then.......from across the Atlantic have come some good shows, South Park, Simpsons, Warner Bros cartoons.
