brandon, in your opinion, what street tyres (not semi's etc) no matter what the cost is, will hold 400rwkw+ with no traction issue? Cause im sure everyone on the forum would love to know with your wise wisdom

Ive used federal 595rs's in the past & when you get heat into them there pretty bloody good. Ive just bought another est to suite my daily 18's so I'll let ya know how they go when I eventually get to use the car.

Thanks Spiro, we have a 20psi tune that made 434kw that I'll be using for my attempt at a 10 in street trim & as my daily tune & for 5hits & giggles we turned it up abit & at 26psi & still on straight pump fuel it to went 521rwkw. It would of taken more as it seemed to be doing it easy but there was no point.

We have a couple of little things we wanted ironed out before we chuck race fuel at it but that might be a while now because I start over in WA next week but when it does happen im sure the results will be positive.

There is a tire that is up to the task (within logic), unfortunately we cannot get it in Australia as yet however a few people are working on this.. :Welcome2FordXR6t:

Spiro - if the invo's are in the country then surely the same mob can get NT05's as well? Saw a ute with 305 invo's on it a bit over a week ago, according to the owner they grip great but I got a feeling that same guy won't be saying that in a month or so if dave havs anything to do with it.

I run nitto nt05's on my car if you guys havnt noticed me spamming about it. They are a semi slick with about 10-12000km life span. I got them from a hawthorn in victoria. They are rated higher then the invo's.

I asked brandon for a street tyre, not a semi slick.

Ill give you reviews when I get the car back from my latest tuner early next week... once I can actually go over 3000rpm...

I think a normal street tyre is beyond its real usefulness well & truly by 400kw, a descent semi slick is the only answer & unfortunatly tyre wear is the sacrifice we pay for hp. If I get 10000klm out of a set of rears im over the moon & even 5000klm I can live with that. Lucky I got a new job I think I might need it to pay for extra tyres mine will chew now. lol.

agree 100% with you qik1. But obviously someone thinks knows better. IMO semi slicks are needed when pushing over the 340rwkw mark. My bridgestone re050 (600$ a pop thanks brandnn) seem to JUST hold out my 300zx with 310rwkw. Even 10rwkw more and they would spin / chirp through the gears

if you want some Nitto NT05 semi slicks, let me know qik1 and ill organize it for you. Feel free to await my review as no point in getting them if they dont hold my car down ;p
