If you think the problem is with the ABS, as a test what about unplugging the electrical connector at the ABS unit. You should get an "ABS" warning light up, brakes should work ok but your problem should disappear IF it is the ABS causing the problem.

I agree with Geoff. Isolate you AB.

It could be a slight flat spot on a tyre that doesnt show up at higher speed. Are your rotors slotted at all?

Good luck. Let us know what you find.

I've been having this same problem in the last few weeks. The pedal pumps/vibrates at really low speeds just before I come to a stop, and the other day my ABS light came on and traction control turned off automatically. Atleast it saved me from doing it myself :turboboink:

I had the same problem, it was a loose wheel speed sensor, it wasn't reading properly so the ecu thought the wheel was locked and applied the abs...

stupid workshop that replaced my diff bush didn't bother doing the sensor back up, then had the cheek to tell me my breaks were fu*ked

Hey guys have we got a solution for this yet. I have the same problem where ABS will kick in for 2 seconds at very low speeds. Was the wheel sensor the solution.

Mate, ive had the same issue since new, evey with 3 pad changes, and new rotors, and even fluid...

First place said - its fine they all do it...

Second said - ABS, but couldnt fault it, and no error codes...

Third has now spect one go at it - no luck... heads back in the morning actually for another review - taking it for a few days...

Best way to reproduce the problem (for me anyways) - is to slow to under 40, release the brakes for a second then depress again, as if you are driving to a set of lights, see the lights change, but then realise the muppet in front is still sitting there...

so - on>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> off>> back on>>>>>>> and it will feel like :pooh:

Let you know what we end up with - but its on the himbo's as well... they 'believe' it may be a ABS issue... Sensors have been cleaned a few times and no change...

Ok, looks like 2 days of checking things out with this one, and now the boys at Ford are heading to take a closer look...

Fingers crossed they will find a fix for this once and for all... for all of us!!!

Sometimes I feel like my poor rsepc is the test muel for fixes with the muppets!

OK, well 4 days... car back... no fix.. just "we 'thought' it was an ABS issue, but cant find any error codes, or fault it"...

I think its time to sell the RSpec and buy a Merc or something...

:roflmbo:
