Rodderz Member 92 Member For: 22y 6m 16d Posted 15/02/04 05:20 AM Share Posted 15/02/04 05:20 AM I think a T is the best car anywhere at the moment for serious mods to make good times vs cost, also the fact it can be driven sedately like a N/A 6cyl and a racecar on the weekend. But for me after driving the boss the noise and smoothness of the donk is really an enjoyable experience! And anybody worried about feul economy should go immediately to their local Hyundai dealer, the GT guzzles when your up it 18.5 ltr per 100klm medium, 22.5 hard, 14.5 normal. I have noticed once they get a few Ks on them 2000+ they do seem to go a bit harder. The trouble for the quarter is keeping the back wheels from spinning. But then again when the T has hit the speed limiter and is wallowing all over the road with no chance of stopping on the standard brakes, well the GT is @ around 4500rpm in fourth and still getting its gander up. Thank god all roads go for much longer than a quarter mile :banghead: Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6057-ba-gt-pulls-a-137-14-mile-at-calder/page/4/#findComment-93061 Share on other sites

Thanks for the info, my turbo averaged 13.6l/100km with 95% easy city driving, so for a big V8 this is excellent, could I ask a few other questions, what problems/if any have you had so far? has it loosened up/can you notice the difference in power? Any other info greatly appreciated, My GT IS 4 loooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnng weeks away! When you brake at 200+ the GT will stop fast and true every time the T will shake and shudder as it tramlines across 2 lanes . But then again when you plant your foot at the lights the T will take off like a silkworm missile. Both top machines, depends on our personal tastes Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6057-ba-gt-pulls-a-137-14-mile-at-calder/page/4/#findComment-132681 Share on other sites

Bring together the best of both worlds. What have you got ??? A wooorld beater. Then add mods , it would have to be T motor IMHO ,with a solid drivetrain, suspension enhancements and importantly decent stoppers. Makes ya lie awake at night ..........the possibilites ?? LS2 when ? Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6057-ba-gt-pulls-a-137-14-mile-at-calder/page/4/#findComment-132905 Share on other sites
