My car moves only a couple of times a month... So when the opportunity for Brembos came up, I said I wanted them, she said oh is that because your current ones have rusted as they dont get used, I agreed and that was that, Brembos are on now :)

It also helps to have a seperate bank account, a fun account that only you can access. Also helps to not open the bonnet when they are around, if they dont know what stock engine bay looks like, then that nizpro/plazmaman/PW plennum will just look normal to them...

Tell your wife to get another job, so see doesn't see your companies books.

My wife has no idea how much I spend and never will, and I've got away with it for over 30 years of marriage (to the same wife!).

Being Married with kids makes it hard, not to mention the poor salary I'm on at present.

But really, why the hell does anyone allow there women to dictate what and what we can buy.

For gods sake they spend as much if not more than we do.

At present I have been buying bit by bit for my TO4z and manifold, mean while my sister has lent me

her old dunga skyline(Yeh sssh). everytime we get in it she hates it and I keep saying well if you would

stop buying take away and wasteing the money on your mobile phone bills, we would be driving it.

She argue's the point of why I didn't just get a replacement turbo and put it on, I show her how the

factory turbos a prone to craking and the TO4z will last longer and is only $200 dearer.

The oil lines also show her treads from on hear where people mentioned they clog up so

I need these Teflon coated braided ones which I have to buy the correct fittings for.

Etc eta.

Most of the time I just say its for safety reasons or to improve fuel ecconomy and that's

the end of any questioning.

I also keep her happy by buying her the odd dress or jewelery.

the worst thing is other people get in her ears and tell her I'm only doing it to make it go faster.

I reply yes it will but that's not the reason for doing it, it will be cheaper to run, it will last longer

etc eta.

What makes it easier for me is the fact I do all my own work and can quite easily hide or do what I

want when I want.

the other is she has no idea about cars and that's how it will stay.

I tell the mrs the car is fast enough. Why would I want it to go faster?

I buy these things to make the engine last longer / prevent other parts from braking / make the car feel safer etc.

The other day I was saying how the car feels like it's going to roll when I go around corners and proceeded to load-up the boot and the interior with bricks, jerry cans filled with water, dumb bells, spare wheels/tyres etc - all to get the car to sit nicer for the TANGCLA photoshoot.

Bingo! The next day, she says to me "Babe, how come you haven't got your car lowered yet?"

Hide a jar in the garage or somewhere where she won’t find it. Put away $50/$100 every pay.

It's a good idea to take the money out when you’re Woollies it's goes down a one transaction and looks like you've spent it all on food. Then hide it.

Once you have enough for what you want you don't need to tell her just go and to it. Won’t even know. :smilelove:

Awesome... This week is shopping week, now I have 2 options. Cheers Angel

Mine was nagging me to get her a dog for about 6 months. Then I bought the car and joined up here not long after.... all of a sudden, I decided to buy her a dog.

Now I've got her covered - just planting the seed by buying the dog WELL in advance of wanting to start modding!

Ohh that the good missus vs the car. I have been planning a wedding with ever increasing costs (much like my car), every time I say no to something I get the standard response 'oh its ok for your car but not your wedding'.

I have tried many excuses, most recently those m/t's. I borrowed the rims from JP300 and bought the tyres, so I missled a little by saying that the wheels were borrowed and failed to mention the tyres or their costs.

ROFL im pretty lucky as my missus loves cars, home theatre, over the top excessive subwoofers and big ass plasmas in small rooms, outdoor bars/drinking arenas, spas, action flicks etc so I can usually spend what I want on whatever I want cause she'll like it too..

the very few things ive bought that shes not been interested in ive just planted the seed a couple of days/weeks before and made sure she finds something she wants at around the same value etc.. all works out although I buy clothes once every 6 months instead of once a week so she wins on that front haha
