Gunna have a crack at fitting a super-pro SL camber kit to the mrs turbo, what little tricks and stuff would make this easier for me??

also how many shims should I put in on each side as a starting point, Like say ive got 6 per-side I can use, should I put in 3??

thanks in advance :hiall:

*warning dodgy mechanical advice*

Troughy, you need spring compressors to install the springs in the front.

re the shims, place a spirit level against the tyre, the bottom of the sidewall will touch the level and there should be a gap at the top. Measure the gap and use this as a base line to aim for once the lowered springs are in.

does that make sense? :hiall:

I just put SL springs int he front of mine and need to take it to get the camber and alignment done.

What is the difference between and camber kit and just putting shims in at the top control arm?

the lowered springs are already in mate, done it last weekend... it went in for an alignment this week but needs a front camber kit so I got a super-pro SL kit that I need to put in so I can get the alignment done.

Spoke to couple of wheel shop yesterday and they said a camber caster kit in needed for front if SL springs are used. They can not shim it enough without a camber kit.

What camber kits are you all using?

You will have to measure the old brackets and shims to the centreline of the bolt first, do this for all four brackets. Do it in a vice, makes life easy.

Once you have done this, fit the new brackets to the arms and measure from the bottom of bracket to the centreline again, then add the required shims

to give you the same measurement as you had with the old set up.

The new brackets have different geometry, and you will find you have used a different amount of shims to achieve the same figure. It won't matter much as the wheel alignment will change all this anyway but it will get you there without a hassle.
