As topic says.

Topic is for the street. Now I know noone condones street racing, but I want to have a street setup for my BA when its in and racing. Im still comprehending on semi slicks..... but still want to do passes with street tyres and mags all round. Is anything bigger then 18" to big?

I use 18" rims for the track, easy to get R-comps, easy to get tyre profiles that are needed etc.

Try to find a semi in 19 inch. Not easy and very little to choose from. 18 inch seems the go with a larger range to pick from.

If anyone has suggestions for 19 inch semi's then I'm all ears. The only one's I know of are RE01R and Toyo R888 in 235/245.

my topic is not on the rearety of tyres, its what is the best size to race wheels with? Or does it not matter, and its all to do with the tyres? So I can go race with 22" rimms with re 050a tyres and its all fine. I thought the diametre etc of the mag does make a difference, and if the mags are too big, it affects the performance / drive of the car

I'd say 18's too especially if you're considering semi slicks or maybe 19's with street tyres. Watch the Top Gear video where they tested the supercharged Walkinshaw ClubSport, they gained 3 seconds per lap by ditching the 22s and going back to 20s. Would be interesting to see it with 19's too. So yeah bigger is not always better.
