My sticker in the door says, 235/45/17, 245/40/18 & 215/55/16 (spare tyre)Is my 225/35/20 legal? According to Mr. Mechanic, you are not allowed to run a skinnier tyre then standard... Why would you want to run a narrower tyre than standard anyway???

Interested in whether it is legal, or not.

Which when put together state that a rim and tyre fitted to a vehicle with the prescribed pressure must not be less than 26mm smaller than the diamater specified by the manufacturer excepting the spare and that this combination must not be less than 70% of the widest tyre fitted while at the same time for a vehicle manufactured after the 1st of January 1974 the track of the vehicle must not be reduced.I should start charging a fee for this stuff......... Get 245x30x20 they're a lower profile (less overall diameter) than a 225x35, are correctly load rated for the falcons and perform better :-)
