im 20 I drive an 04 ba xr6 non turbo. I have an immaculate driving history im on my green p's never been in an accident and I fork out $1750pa for full comprehensive with AAMI

car is valued at 17k

I want to get either an '07 xr8 or a mk2 bf xr6t next year once I get off my p's but the 3K+ insurance is the only thing holding me back

Hi ENVI.BA, that's a bit steep. Have you consider to put some one over 30 yo with good record in and you as second driver?

I am a postie and I have an FG XR n/a and we all use GWS Genco Group in Melbourne. Mine is buisness full comprehensive and they charge mw $830 p/a and that's with the pretty standard $500 excess. If you are under 21 add $750. Under 25 but over 21 add $300

I am not sure if they do the general public but for the money it's worth a try.

ph 03 8420 8700

cheers hope this helps you

:omg:

Thanks Lairdy, I'll give them a ring tomorrow see how it goes.

I feel your pain.. I'm 29.. with an 05 BF XR6 n/a... 6 speed auto.. I pay about 1100 I think for full comp... with suncorp...

I have gotten quotes from QBE.. they have been the cheapest for me so far.. I think about 800-900 from memory.. or if I chose to have a $0 excess.. I'd be paying what I am currently... which is also rather appealing..

QBE have 3 different policy choices... the cheapest of which is you choose not to let anyone under 24 drive the car... which isn't an issue for me.. try an online quote or give them a call... I'm still trying to decide if I want to change... I don't know anyone who uses QBE.. so don't know how good their claims procedure is..

Not to rub it in to you guys or anything...

Got my FG 08 XR6 Turbo insured at $42K with Ammi for $1130 with $650 excess.

At the time I was deciding whether or not to go XR5T or XR6T. XR5T was $2300 for my to insure it. Which is why I ended up getting a XR6T cause it was cheaper to run! (I dont pay for petrol)

Just wondering if any car insurance brokers in here can help me with the best quote for my car:

Kenny

Jeez, I am in the same age bracket as you guys, but my '07 BF is insured in my partners name. She is a bit older than me, and BAM! SHe is several hundreds of dollars cheaper to insure.

The moral? Get a GF (or your best mates mum), and get your wheels insured in her name!

Just wondering if any car insurance brokers in here can help me with the best quote for my car:

Car: 07/2007 Ford BFII XR6, Octane, 4 speed Auto(non turbo), no mod

Driver: 27 yo male

History: clean, no claim for the last 5 years.

Location: NSW 2166

Value: agree or market $25k

Excess: standard $600.

My best quote so far is Real Insurance for $1,050. Still damn expensive for a N/A XR6 and me as the driver.

Thanks in advance!

Kenny

I just got my NA FG rego'd and insured. Some insane prices for a NA !!!!! . GIO gave 20 percent discount online. SO it brought mine down to 1200 hunge

Well, if we're not into rubbing it in then...

My BF 2 Force 6 insured for $47,000 with Shannons for $1085 with a $500 excess.

This is with 2 claims in past 5 years (One at fault and one not at fault), plus all the nice Shannons extra's on the policy that dont come standard on alot of other policies.

There are better deals to be had out there from the normal mainstream insurance companies. I can't fault Shannon's at all for their service, effort and particularly their low premiums in the 3 years I've been using them for vehicle insurance.

I think being under 30 you're always going to get hit hard. I currently have an 04' Turbo insured with AAMI for $912 I think it is which was up from the previous year of about $875 for full comp. I'm looking at getting an 06' 6 speed ZF n/a and was quoted $856 as I have had a license cancelation in the last 12 months. Which is about $120 more than what it would have been if I had not had a cancellation.

I know its a bit late but maybe still some help.

I went through Swann insurance. $600 annual premium, $200 excess, that's it for 2007 xr6 bf. I had never even had insurance before and todl them all that, no diference. only issue is I wouldnt bother if you have any mods at all you want covered. otherwise you will be hit up for a special excess for tthe mods value. I had my car written off in the perth hail storms other month and got pay out of more than I paid on a market value policy.
