mate I have a 2002 ba auto with 180,000km it only has a tune but other than minor things, radiator, front bearing, brake rotors, coils, tps I havn't had a problem at all and it is a daily. As long as it has been well maintained and if it has been modified has been done right you shouldn't have a problem mate just make sure you check it out properly

As can be seeen Its hard to answer your question specifically due to so many variables. But these cars have gone on with a lot more Ks and been fine without over the top expenses then again there are those that haven't.

For the model you are looking at you wont need to fork out big bucks. If that's all you can afford go for it but try and keep something in reserve. Where else are you going to get a performance car like this for the amount u r forking out.

As others have stated get it checked thoroughly it sworth the investment.

Currently have a 11/2004 BA MkII with 130000 klm, only mod is secondary intake and K&N. Gets better fuel economy than ever still goes great have had it for sale for 3 months now for $17500 and only tyre kickers so far. They all said the klm scared them off. It's being traded at the end of the month, new FG ordered.

I bought a BA at the start of the year..was my first falcon cost nearly 18k wand had 75,000km on it so not cheap but already ive had suspension troubles coursing a problem with my alignment. Now I have an odd noise when turning hard sometimes, some sort of bang noise when turning wheels from left or right or right to left. Lucky for me I have a mechanical warranty for next 3 years..if I can give you any advice it would be this:

dont buy something you cannot afford, if a BF is all u can afford I would spend that little bit more and buy it from a car yard WITH an additional mechanic warranty. If I hadnt then I would be very poor

**Wonders if its possible to fit a 6 speed auto in a BA**

I had an 03 with about 145k on it... trashed it every day for a year and a half ... NOT a problem... only thing that I had to spend on it was tyres lol.. personally I liked the 4sp auto .. drove a car with a 6sp zf and didn't like it at all... I think it was due to the fact I didn't like the car from the start lol ... Autos suck after driving manual though :P

I wouldnt touch one with over 120,000km on it. By the time your fix things (and you will) it will cost the same if not more than a low km version.

Do you really want to spend your hard earned cash on a car on its last legs? Its better to save up more and get a proper one.

How is a car with 120+ kms on the clock on its last legs?!?!

If you think the engine is clapped out with those km's then your bonkers!

Most people are going to modify the suspension so that's sorted.

Most people will get bigger rims and tyres so that's sorted.

Most people will change brakes for better stopping power so that's sorted.

Most people will modify the engine in terms of intake/exhaust/tune so that's sorted

Our cars should piss in 250k kms with ease, overhaul parts when required, but that is the same for any vehicle.

My EF Fairmont was the same between 150k kms and 270k kms, it had the usual mods and replacement of bits and bobs.

I expect my Landcruiser to survive past 500k kms, and its only got 100k on the clock now.

XCH45R, you should get many years of happiness with your new beast!
