Hey all...

im a newbie when it comes to induction set ups... so I was wandering how much an F6 Cai And K&n Air Filter set up would be and is it hard to install? what are the advantages of having this set up? will it make some more Wooosh noises? and give a lil kw's at the rear? any info will be great on where to purchase and stuff.. I'm located in SA so if anyone has one spare for a good price I'd be happy to consider purchsing it :)

cheers all

S.S

I've got a brand new, still sealed in the plastic bag K&N filter you can have for $80 delivered.

Send me a PM if you're interested. :sleepystuff:

good info in here and a link to the thread with the measurements for the hole you have to cut out.

its a half hour job to remove the air box, cut the whole, reinstall the airbox and put the snorkel in.

I paid $75 for the snorkel on ebay.

dont mean to hijack the thread....

this seems the logical 1st mod to do 2 a xr6t

assuming its a 4spd BA is there a place you can go that will do it for you (for those useless with cars like myself)

like buy a k&N filter from bursons or something ... then with the f6 intake... can u just go 2 a place..... and they will do it for you for a few more $$?

would this be a similar thing to those ss inductions 'big mouth' or 'growler' things. they seems pretty costly and from what ive heard f6 ones are cheaper?

easy as job mate. I used the above link and found another post with the exact measurements that are spot on. I borrowed a mates dremel and couldn't go wrong. Snorkel cost me $80 bucks from ford and K&N filter for $110. Theres a little bit of flutter, but you realy notice it when you run a bit more boost through (custom tune). I was going to get a growler but saw too many people caning them, and favouring this mod.

hey all heres an update so far!

A mate of mines old man owns a ford dealership so lucky me got the parts for next to nothing including the K&N filter... however they said they were going to install it for me all, but this must just be a ford thing but they were talking about removing my whole front end to fit the snorkel I mean WTF?? surely it's not that hard am I right? I'm going to try over the weekend and see how we go but still just a bit annoyed by what they said

Oldest trick in the book... Sell you the parts cheap and then get into you with the labour.

The bumper doesn't need to come off.
