Hey all,

over the past couple of weeks, my car has been idling very rough....like jumping from 1000 RPM -> 300RPM AND BACK. It gets to the point where the car stalls. Then I have to turn it back on again and its fine for a little while until it starts again.

I just serviced the car 3 days ago and used Castrol Magnatec and topped up all my fluids. I highly doubt it was because of my service....but I need some advice on what it could be and how to fix it....

I was thinking it might need a tune but I'm not sure yet.

its getting really frustrating to drive in a high traffic environment because of the stalling....

so PLEASE HELP!!! lol

cheers

Try changing the battery

check you haven't knocked any earth straps off during the service

check your throttle body for carbon build up

check that all vacuum hoses are connected correctly

behind the turbo at the back of the head there's a wiring loom that goes into the head. there has been an issue that if this wiring loom melts, it can cause erratic idle, etc.

check all those things, if that fails, maybe take it to a tuner and get them to diagnose further (read the fault code on the ecu)
