Picked up my car and as you do with a new toy you give it a bit of a flogging.

Now the car runs perfect except for when I accelarate heavily up to about 5000 rpm the car begins to surge. It feels like its bunny hopping. When it does this I lose all power until I change gears and the revs are taken back down. Back up to 5000rpm and it happens again.

Any ideas on what this problem could be or has any experienced this?

It is a 2005 BA MKII F6 Typhoon. 6 speed obviously.

Mate what was your fuel level like? Flooring it with low fuel levels in these cars (aka less than half to a third of a tank) can cause fuel-surge where the engine is momentarily starved of fuel. It's potentially destructive...if the fuel pickup is exposed long enough to grab a big enough gulp of air your engine could end up going bang :bye:

Hopefully it's something as simple as that, BTW

Had this a while ago. It was as simple as changing the spark plugs for me. Problem solved. Sometimes the simple things work
