Finally some engine tech in our Aussie cars!Hopefully the "eco" upgrades to the i6 will do their usual more performance and more economy thing too... Couldn't be more wrong. Having a 4 cylinder opens up a massive market for them selling to government fleets who have bans on cars with 6 cylinders or more. Many private fleets also have these bans. Also allows export opportunities.

The torqiest engine its fitted too makes 320 nm in the Focus diesel, and as far as I know they aren't making any high torque versions.

Engines seem to be going down the small Turbo route, VW/Audi have a particularly impressive line up. Have even heard people suggesting a XR4 Falcon.... Also the mazda 6 mps which was about 1600kg - I know that had a 2.3 turbo engine though. There may be a slightly bigger 4 for the performance falcons???And ford are suppose to be developing liquid injection LPG which may be good for the coyote v8 - cheaper to run and more power. This may be a way of keeping the v8 popular.Maybe this is just wishful thinking??
