I had the middle section of my exhaust replaced with twin 2.5 with hotdogs a while back, im looking at upgrading the rear end now...

I know it depends on the muffler, but I want to hear if anyone has a twin 2.5" system with one muffler or one muffler with hotdogs, and if the sound is too loud or droney...

At the moment I dont think the car is loud enough, how much of a difference would the rear end make?

thanks for your help

I've got dual 2.5 with 1 centre muffler and two hotdogs at the rear, the note sounds tuff but it does drone a bit at around 2000rpm. I also have a 4" dump and 5" cat at the front so the noise may vary a bit with your car

yeah my plans for the exhaust will be sticking with std dump, maybe just a cat upgrade...

my hotdogs are in the middle and muffler at the rear... does the switch in combination have much of an effect?

I was wondering if anyone else was running one muffler on a twin 2.5" with hotdogs, preferably with std dump... I drive a manual so im not sure if that helps with drone much...

thanks

im using a redback twin 2.5" cat back in mild steel. its the standard kit and does not drone at all. I have a 4" dump going through a standard 'hiflowed' cat.

sounds quite deep at idle. I would prefer it to scream a bit more on wot, but im not willing to risk any droning as I do alot of highway driving- 110kph= 2100rpm= drone.

you can get a cat back fitted for $700ish.

im not sure dude. to be honest, I havent heard one with centre muffler removed- only on you tube, but that's not too accurate for sound I reckon.
