well guys I think rape laws should be like this...

Bull fighting.....the male being the bull and the female the matador....once you enter the ring no turning back...

I think it's hard to stop a charging bull as it is to stop a aroused male....

Once in the ring the matador can't drop the cape and say no... he has had plenty of time before hand to think about how his actions have influenced the situaton...Once in the ring I believe it's yes all the way....

The article is brief and lacking in detail. Who brought this to the authorities attention. Did she cry rape, was it a friend or family upon hearing about the incident? Rape is a horrible horrible crime, I am leaning towards the judges decision on this, what he did was stupid, morally reprehensible and showed only concern for himself and his needs sratch that wants. But is it really rape?

I've read that even if a woman was intoxicated and wanted sex. If she claims rape the next day it is hard for the poor bloke to claim his innocents.

from what I've heard the bloke has pleaded guilty to rape. As consent wasn't clear.

The controversy is that the Magistrate has labelled it "technical rape" and is unlikely

to impose the maximum sentence as went on the nod

It says here they were both drunk, she consented to sex but fell asleep during foreplay.

It's not even rape - if it were up to me, I'd dismiss it.

It's not even as bad as the case that my friend got called up to jury duty for. A British tourist fingered a sleeping girl at a party, then she woke up during the act and accused him of rape. That'd be something along the lines of indecent assault.

Yeah, I've heard this too! it's going too far, it's not the guys responsibility to make sure she not too drunk! Once you're over 18, it's no one else's responsibility but YOUR OWN! I mean, I think most of us have got too drunk, been with some chick and regretted it the next day, but we don't go claiming rape!

I totally agree with the judges remarks

"This is not a situation where an offender perpetrated a sex act on an unconscious victim which she would not have consented to, had she been conscious.

"To mark this man with the grave offence of rape for the rest of his days will stop him travelling to some countries and prevent him getting jobs."

What made this chick decide to press charges anyway?

It's sad, but the usual response to that would be - she found out that he had money... Damn this world we live in! :3gears:
