Coffee Shop near my work uses Illy. Imported from Italy, Cafe owner says its the ferrari of coffee and the only coffee he has used over the last 9 years that has consistently tasted the same. Great tasting coffee!

Have a coffee machine at home too, im happy to use Lavazza, Brasiliano, Vittoria and others - doesnt really seem to make too much difference to me... They all taste a little different but they are all ok!

In saying that, for an instant coffee - the Jarrah range (hazelnut & vanilla latte's, mocha, capp etc) are all pretty good for 50c a cup.

Also have the Delonghi machine at home and favour illy coffee but is expensive, otherwise Lavazza or just harris medium roast if I'm a povo.

Coffee machine needs a service though as the O-rings aren't sealing the milk dispencer/throther anymore, its under warranty so its all good plus 2yrs of no problem service and I'm happy with it.

If it from a basic coffee shop then the coffee club as there bean isn't as bitter and then gloria jeans for a sweet fix with irish cream or the caramel latte!

I think the machine we have here at the office uses Grinders (part of the contract I think) - it isn't great. The machine itself might have something to do with that but I think the beans are at least equally to blame if not more.

Illy is fantastic and expensive. So shops that buy it usually invest in a decent machine and staff to. Never had a bad one. Merlo a local Brisbane product is great to, but it really depends on the barista, I have had some shockers.

vanilla latte from starbucks

but seeing as though I live a bit far from town would have to say that merlo (dont know what beans they use but it is pretty goodd) and I have to agree totally with trent - one day get a coffee from the local coffee shop and it is shlt - next day it is bloody awesome just depends who makes it

I reckon some baristas could make instant taste good

EDIT: but if I have to have a coffee at home the nescafe green blend is pretty good - only trouble is ya need to use alot more of it then normal coffee otherwise it just tastes like hot milk
