How do fibreglass bodykits hold up in day 2 day driving? I've read a lot about the fit and durability not being very good as compared to facory spec parts.

the price is soooo vastly different is it worth paying more 4 the genuine stuff?? I've seen HEAPS of cars around town with big cracks and sh*tty paint jobs and it seems that after pain ting and fitting them only 2 have them crack and break might not be the best option.

Also (haven't even got a turbo yet lol) how do the f6/force 6 front bars looks like compared 2 the factory units? I like the neat proffessional look of these cars and if the bar sags I rekon it totally defeats the purpose of etting them!

You will never get a perfect fit from a fibreglass kit.

They are moulded from genuine bits, and produed differently, so they're almost always off.

The glass also never finishes as nice as the genuine plastic, although right after paint the colours might match, the glass will always have a cheap shine to it that fades quicker than the sh*tty bar disintergrates from stone chips.

What comes on an XR6T from Fraud is FAR superior to a fibreglass kit made to make an XR6T look like an FPV.

I would not ever bother with one. People obviously use one as an attempt to improve the cars looks. Why do this if it's gonna look like sh*t?

ive got to agree with the fit. The bloke that did mine had to modify it abit but nothing a descent bodyworks place cant managed. As for looks mine so far looks fantastic but the colour match it perfect. I think it has alot to do with prep as to how they turn out. Here's what mine turned out like.

so how much am I looking at for a genuine plastic one? are there cheaper aftermarket options that are still good quality w/o the $$$ of a genuine fpv one?

what about wings? I want to remove the sh%# standard turbo wing and go for sleek force 6/8 rear ducktail style. same goes for these?

ive got a fibreglass rear bar, side skirts and bob tail all from AWC and they fit well just the skirts needed some work to fit but any good panel shop will be able to do it.

I dont agree with Fibreglass not maintaining a good finish.

I have seen many good Cobra replicas, Corvettes etc with fantastic paint that has lasted well. It is all on how well it is made, sealed and finished. You could make a cardboard bodykit look good until it got bent or stonechipped. You need a really good spraypainter to make it look good, and that goes for plastic, steel or fibreglass.

However... fibreglass does seem to stonechip easier than steel or plastic. But... you could paint it every 3 years and I am sure the difference would be minimal.

I would prefer F6 plastics - and dont care that my car started as an XR - it is what I would like. But.. unless you can get a good deal - they are just too expensive to make it worthwhile.
