Sounds good mate, yeah I am disappointed but this is the risk we all run with these awesome machines. Let's just hope it doesn't happen again. Hopefully I'll know soon how much I will be up for, then go from there. Best of luck with yours mate and I'll keep posting up as I know things.

Good luck sorting it out.

I assume that engine was built in 2005, and has been involved in circuit racing since, so it has seen some hard use.

Just might need a freshen up. The latest spec engines will use very different tolerances compared with 4 years ago.

Hi Brian, yes it has had a very hard 19,000kms so far. Hopefully as you said it just needs to be touched up. I have been told that they did change a few things in the last few years as to the specs of the Stage 3 engines. Would you have some idea as to what they changed?

Also with this car, I am very happy with 360rwkw for the street, however I'd really like to have a dyno tune pumping out 450rwkw. Now I will be adding the Nizpro 4" system, would there be any other parts that people would recommend that could get me there?

Thanks

John

I'm aware of the latest specs, but if you want to know exactly what went into YOUR engine only Nizpro could tell you.

My big engine had a complete overhall late year to repair damage to the back of the crank. Rods and pistons were fine, and reused.

In the process rings & bearings were changed, and in the process of refresh it's worth having everything double checked and a stack of other things done.

Still is not cheap.

If you don't mind me asking Brian, how much did it cost you to get it all refreshed? As it sounds like a good thing to do while the motor is apart.

Well the cause has been found to be the Valve and valve spring in Cylinder 4. They are now being replaced and I'm looking at between 5-6 grand to fix.
