It will be interesting to see what happens when you take the rear muffler off....you may get a surprise?!

Well, I got the rear muffler taken off yesterday afternoon and first impressions are a big difference!

The car feels noticeably faster, revs quicker, sounds un-restricted and is running 2 p.s.I more boost from just that change alone.

I will get the tune done as soon as possible before I give it a proper acceleration test, but it feels better. :spoton:

Nice one, take it easy until you get it tuned as when I added 2psi to the top end of my tune I had a bit of knock and that's with some timing removed.

What rear set-up do you have now and how is the sound?

I went and saw Brad at 'Oak Flats Muffler Men' and he replaced the rear muffler with a 3.5" section of exhaust piping.

He used the original flange to connect it, so I can put the muffler back on easily if I wanted to, as usual, he did a great job.

As for the noise........

At laboring rpm its a little droney and louder, but at cruising speeds its not much different.

I have only given it small squirts (waiting for re-tune), and it sounds a lot less restrictive under acceleration than it did before.

Went up to C&V Performance today to check the tune on my XR6T, after I had the rear muffler removed.

Tune was safe and power had increased to 371rwkw.

With my stock bottom end, Con recommended to leave it at that!

Guess the X-Force rear muffler I had on my car was cr@p, very restrictive!

Again thanks to C&V for helping me out, also Kev for letting me get it done in worktime.......... thanks Boss

Lovely I like it! How's the exhaust note going?

I have to say that I am used to the sound now, and I really like it.

I put the muffler back on it the other day just to re-assure myself that I had done the right thing by taking it off.

Even though it is a lot quiter, it really affected performance, it strangles the car!

Needless to say, I took it off again, and that's where its staying! :beerchug:
