Jolly good. Thanks all - I will report back and let you know what the geniuses at Fraud decide the problem is.

Ambient temp is fine but yeah... fuel gauge still no good. Can't wait till all these nigglies are sorted out so that I don't have to have the inconvenience of going there (my mechanic is so much easier to get to and near work for pick ups and drop offs) and then... well, I can not worry about my warranty when tinkering with it :drivingalong:

My car does the same thing, Never worried about it, Just figured it was normal, Good to know what it is though

so what your all saying is that every auto will do it, so there is no need for everyone to post that theirs is doing it also cuz its normal

Errr sorry to reignite what appeared to be a closed issue, but driving home tonight I was giving it a lil extra stick and this time the revs dropped from say 2700 to about 1950. I could feel this a lot more than the other times I described in the OP...

Still a benign issue...?!

Update

Just got a call - no word on the above problem, but I've asked them to look at the fuel gauge because even though they've already fixed it once, it still doesn't work. It's about 10 litres out.

"How much fuel do you reckon is in it?" We don't find a problem with it at the moment.

Really?! It has 10 litres in it by my calcs (which I check every time I fill it), the needle is pointing at dead set Empty and thus the DTE says nil (actually it said nil yesterday). And you think the thing is accurate?!

Seriously how useless are these blokes; again from what I've heard/read this is about as common a fault as there is in an FG. And they still can't fix it?!

I think they're out a touch to stop people running them bone dry and thus sucking up all the sh!t off the bottom of the tank... Mine reads 50km's to empty and I will put 14odd liters into it, so that's over 50km's out. Pretty sure they're all like that though, does seem a bit excessive, I could be wrong...

If it was a few litres I'd be happy, but it's 10 litres out of 68, which is 15% - no good in my book.

It was hard enough getting the missus to let me buy it; imagine if she turned around and said "you bought a $60k car and the freakin' fuel gauge doesn't work"! It'd be insufferable.

Now as an experiment slot her into performance mode and see what happens.

Then try it in performance mode + Traction control off and see what happens.
