Now as an experiment slot her into performance mode and see what happens.

Then try it in performance mode + Traction control off and see what happens.

When I first read this I thought you were talking bout his Missus... or maybe you are... :roflmbo:

I did it Saturday night, driving home from a mate's place I got stuck at the front of many red lights - quite enjoyable :roflmbo:

My head hurts.

By the way, do you think I'm expecting too much of a Ford mechanic to know that the G6ET comes with only one transmission? I'm sure they don't work exclusively on FGs or even G6ETs but having said that if I was a mechanic surely I'd be 'interested' enough to have learned by now, about a year after they were released, that it comes with only one variant of 'box.

When I was dropping it off and describing the issue I was asked what transmission I have in it; I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was asking to confirm if I'd modified it. Although having said THAT... he was fairly well aware it was a warranty claim. Oh well.

Well the bit of paper actually said there was a a turbo fault code. Then they test drove, ran it by the computer again (I've left the paper in the car, which is currently taking the kids to school) and the error code disappeared.

FYI the fuel gauge thing was of course "within tolerances"; apparently they called Ford and Ford confirmed this, advising also that they were unsure if any update would be released in the future. Sheesh.

It's due for 15k service soon (which I'll be taking to my own mechanic, not Fraud), I think I'll just spend a few bucks and get him to take a proper look at it. Absolutely no confidence in the bums at Fraud at all.

I know I saw in another post, where people were implying that they didnt' want to pay "top dollar taking it to Ford so that some apprentice can look at it", and someone pointed out that they probably didn't hire JUST apprentices and young blokes. Whilst I accept age is not a specific barrier to someone being a good mechanic (or good at any job for that matter) - I was at the dealership for probably 20 minutes and literally saw ONLY young blokes walking in to the workshop...

The dealers dont give a crap. They just want to make sure your car lasts long enough for the warranty to run out then your on your own buddy.

Find a good mechanic (Looks like you know one already) and pay them to look after your car properly. Change your oil and oil filter every 5000k's and do every thing else when the log book says it should be done and your car will go great for a long time.

Cheers

yea, im pretty sure they set the guages and dte to be very conservative.

I got 80+km out of mine with the dte on 0, and when the needle was sitting on E only ever got 60L into the tank MAX

Hey sorry to dig up an old thread. While overtaking in 4th on the freeway in my manual bf2 I experienced the same thing. 4500 rpm then a sudden drop to 4000 then back up before I changes gear. What causes this? Had half a tank of fuel at the time.
